Finance d'entreprise - FIN

The Finance & Accounting Group (FIN) at the Louvain School of Management (Louvain-la-Neuve Campus) is dedicated to high quality teaching in the area of corporate finance, investment, controlling, financial accounting, management accounting and auditing offering courses at the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level.

The main research interests of the Finance Group (Louvain-la-Neuve Campus) include various issues of mergers & acquisition, market regulation, private equity, entrepreneurial finance, management accounting and auditing.  More details are available on the Research website.

The current group is composed of 10 full-time and part-time faculty members, 12 guest lecturers and 10 PhD students.

First, he obtained a financing from the Institut des Reviseurs d'entreprises (IRE) and in collaboration with the Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (HUB) to study the role played by external auditors in SMEs, which are actually not obliged to audit their financial statements. The study will be done via a questionaire sent to 10 000 Belgian SMEs. A report will be presented at the IRE in April 2012. Second, he leads a project financed by The Insitute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation (IIRAF) in collaboration with two American colleagues (from Bentley University and Kennessaw State University) on the relationship between interal auditing and the C-suite. This research project is based on case studies of American and European coporations. A report will be published in the summer 2012.

The Prize recognizes her thesis on "Non linear Exchange Rate Dynamics : From Short to Long Term". This thesis was supervised by Professor V. Mignon (Université of Paris Ouest Nanterre and CEPII). The price, amounting 3 000 € was awarded on 9 September 2011, at the occasion of the 60th Annual Congress of the French Economic Association, jointly with the prize of the AFSE.
