Assembly and applications of protein-containing nanotubes
Brief description of the position
The position is opened in the framework of a multidisciplinary research project entitled “Functional Supramolecular Systems” and financed by the Belgian Science Policy (Interuniversity Project).
The research programme associated with this position will focus on:
(1) The study of layer-by-layer assembly of proteins.
(2) The elaboration of protein-containing nanotubes based on layer-by-layer assembly within porous templates.
(3) The use of the obtained nanotubes for applications in biotechnology.
The supervisors of this research programme are Profs. Christine Dupont-Gillain (Chemistry of interfaces Lab, CIFA, http://www.uclouvain/cifa) and Sophie Demoustier-Champagne (Polymer lab, POLY, http://www.poly.ucl.ac.be/).
Starting of the Post-doc: from March 2010
Contract: fixed-term, salary ~1800 EUR/month
Profile: The candidate must have a PhD in Science. Experience in surface modification and characterization and/or protein adsorption is required.
