Presentation

CESAME is a research centre of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FSA) at the Université Catholique de Louvain that was created in 1991. Its main research activity domains are mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and dynamical control of complex systems. CESAME is essentially made up of members from the Departments of Mathematical Engineering (INMA) and Mechanical Engineering (MECA), plus a limited number of asociate members from other Departments or other Belgian Universities.

The three missions of CESAME are :

• to promote scientific research in the areas of mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and dynamical control of complex systems;
• to guarantee the technology transfer in these areas;
• to train PhD students through graduate courses, seminars, joint workshops and interaction with international scientists.
