Jiří Pospíšil (JP) is a Chargé de recherche F.R.S.-FNRS in the group of Prof. István E. Markó in Institute of Condensed Matter and Nanosciences at the Université catholique de Louvain.

Chargé de recherche F.R.S.-FNRS is a very specific position since it is officially recognized as a post-doc but it is also tenure-track position (to become a Research Fellow of F.R.S.-FNRS). In the case of JP, his promoter Prof. I. E. Markó gave him a free hand to conduct his own research.

Eventhough he is involved in some teaching, JP’s main activity is, with his research group, to carry out research in organic synthetic, physical organic and medicinal chemistry and material science.
