In 2011 Maastricht University organised for the fourth year the “Top 3% Award” to attract, encourage and stimulate talented students. This year was a success for the Economics School of Louvain (ESL), since the only student sent to Maastricht for the Double Degree Master Progam in Economics, Thomas Jeegers, was granted this prestigious award! Each year, the Top 3% of students among the University of Maastricht receive a certificate and a grant equivalent to the tuition fees of their academic year. >From now on the dutch university is thinking of a different format for the award, but is convinced in willing to keep incentives for attracting talented students. The high international ranking of the Economics School of Louvain leaves to believe that this award is certainly not the last to be granted to ESL students.
