Refund of the warranty

For lease contracts starting on 1 September and finishing on 31 August, warranties are refunded on 31 December of the calendar year. 

If you have a Belgian bank account the warranty will be refunded by an automatic bank transfer to bank account of the tenant.

If you have a foreign bank account your warranty will be refunded:

- by international bank transfer (you will have to fill out a form to this which should be handed in at the Contract Management Department before leaving)
- by international cheque, in case the Accommodation Office has not received the correct information to make an international bank transfer.

For short term contracts (e.g. 1 or 2 months):

Tenants who do not have a bank account in their country of origin have to present themselves (after the exit inventory has been carried out):

- at the local office in the neighbourhood where they were lodged in order to obtain a proof that "the accounts have been closed"
- at the Contract Management Department, carrying their ID and the above mentioned proof of closed accounts

They will then receive a cheque that they can cash at the ING bank.
