Political Economy and the Environment

 October 22-23, 2009

CORE, Chair Lhoist Berghmans in Environmental Economics and Management
Université catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium

EQUIPPE, Université Lille 1, France

The motivation of this two-day workshop is to promote the use of advanced economic theory in the field of environmental economics, broadly defined. The objective is to gather a set of high-quality contributions that illustrate how methodological tools and concepts developed in political economy can be used to analyze environmental issues or broader issues with an environmental dimension. Papers with a main emphasis on economic issues as well as those with a main emphasis on new methodological aspects are welcome. In the latter case, a definite relationship to the economic aspects is highly desirable.
