A DVD to Learn Hieroglyphics

Hiéroglyphe
It's a world premiere! Claude Obsomer, professor at the Institute for Oriental Studies at UCL has created a DVD to learn hieroglyphics.
Pronunciation, interactivity, animated images, writing, photos, words, phrases: the DVD allows students or individual learners to learn the basics or improve their knowledge of the ancient language.

The aim of this DVD? To allow everyone to discover, learn or improve their knowledge of the classical Egyptian language as well as the hieroglyph writing, whether as part of their academic studies, or independently. The DVD is very complete and treats topics such as grammar, vocabulary, writing skills and translation of ancient Egyptian texts.

The DVD includes a series of didactic parameters that make its use more concrete:

- each word in classical Egyptian is accompanied by a sound fragment, helping learners to acquire a correct pronunciation;
- every hieroglyph comes with an animated didactic picture or drawing that analysis the construction of the sign, thus making it easier for learners to afterwards produce them;
- numerous pictures taken on archeological sites in Egypt, putting the hieroglyphs in their historical context.

The DVD is for sale at éditions Safran
