The Université catholique de Louvain is looking for a full-time specialist in
Psychological Factors and Prevention in Health
|
The successful candidate will carry out research in the field of health psychology, more specifically the individual, relational, and environmental (e.g., family circle) determinants of health behaviours. The research domain involves the development, implementation, and evaluation of health behaviours promotion programs (e.g., sexual behaviours).
Methods include techniques for the assessment and the modification of representations, attitudes and behaviours in health. The field of investigation involves non-clinical populations presenting health risks (e.g., adolescents, low incomes, ethnical minorities) and clinical populations (e.g., obesity, anorexia-bulimia, severe prematurity).
The research should be carried out within a multidisciplinary framework, integrating contributions from both medical and social sciences. They must encounter the strong societal needs, supported by important research fundings, among other in anorexia-bulimia, obesity, tobacco consumption, substance abuse or sexually-transmitted diseases (e.g., HIV).
Beside applications, the domain involves fundamental research on the links between attitudes changes and behaviours, the motivation to change.
The successful candidate will have teaching assignments in the above-mentioned field within the various degree programmes organised by the Faculty.
