The goal of the Doctoral School of Management is to offer its doctoral students a high level and international minded education and a scientific training. The distinguishing features of the program are:

  • An education based on the development of scientific skills
By stressing a methodology based education and the development of communication and scientific publication skills, the doctoral school aims at promoting a high level scientific research, leading to contributions to conferences and international reviews. Presentation of one’s research is an integral part of the curriculum.
  • Integration in research teams
The existence of active research centers in each specialization area of the program contributes to create an environment favorable to intellectual exchange and the acquisition of a scientific know-how. For the doctoral student this is materialized by the supervision of his promoter, the participation to reading classes, research seminars and doctoral colloquia.
  • International orientation
In English, the program’s objective is to be attractive on an international level. The course offer, the specializations, the course portfolio as well as the faculty available for the thesis advising are comparable to the top international level doctoral programs in Europe. The international orientation is demonstrated by the attraction of international students, the participation of international experts in the program, the organization of master classes open to outside students and the access to doctoral activities organized by scientific societies and partner universities. Doctoral students are incited to participate to international seminars (in particular, the EIASM seminars). They are introduced in research networks through the facilitation of research visits in international schools and through the participation to common activities with international partner institutions.
  • An integrated vision of management
The objective of the school is to train students as specialists in their thesis domain while having an in depth knowledge of their discipline. The doctoral student must be able to put his research in perspective with the major theories in management. This objective is fostered by the program requirements (methodology and special topics classes), the variety of disciplines taught in the school and the insertion of the school in a complete university with easy access to classes from other doctoral schools.
  • A structured program
The course offering is divided in methodology subjects required to master the techniques of management and a range specialization subjects to enable in depth coverage a large selection of disciplines.
  • An established experience
The school has a long tradition of scientific research and long standing doctoral program
  • LSM Doctoral research incentive programme
