Two new permanent members in BSMA

Two new permanent members - Karine Glinel and Delphine Magnin - are with us in BSMA. Congratulations to them!
We are very pleased to welcome two new permanent members in IMCN/BSMA, Dr. Karine Glinel and Dr. Delphine Magnin, who will both contribute in their own ways to developing research in BSMA.

Karine will be benefiting from a permanent position of FNRS researcher, starting on October 2012. Before that date, she will still benefit from the 'Impulse grant' of the FNRS that she was awarded two years ago. Her research in IMCN/BSMA is on Micro-/Nanostructured Biofunctional Surfaces for Studying Surface/Cell Interactions.

Delphine holds from September 1, 2011, a permanent technical position in IMCN/BSMA. Delphine will be first and foremost in charge of reorganizing and animating electron microscopy, including our 2 SEM's and TEM, obviously in a close and friendly collaboration with the people currently in charge of these microscopes, and with the users of these microscopes. She will also more largely take in charge the management of a series of tools related to the modification and characterization of surfaces, mainly the ones that were associated with the FHYN sub-group of BSMA (excluding AFM's).

Notably, Karine and Delphine help us increase the balance between genders in our research division, which certainly still needs to be improved! :-)
