The UCL Chairs

In 2004, the Fondation Louvain created a program of Chairs to support the development of the Université catholique de Louvain in teaching and strategic research for its future in Europe.

An academic Chair allows :

  • to anticipate the hiring of young professors
  • to reinforce reasearch teams
  • to create new courses and multidisciplinary trainings
  • to generate and/or improve national and international networks for a specific subject

Amongst the various projects, the Chair of European Law that comes from the Faculty of Law (International Law department) is particularily crucial for the UCL to keep a high position and keep researching in that field.
