Study programmeAcademic education in Belgium, divided in three different phases known as ‘cycles’, allows (mature) students to adapt their curriculum their needs. 1° CYCLE : Bachelors, minors, preperatory years During their Bachelor’s programme students receive their initial academic training, whilst at the same time personalise the curriculum by choosing a minor.
2° CYCLE : Masters, teacher training, advanced Masters UCL proposes nearly a hundred Master’s of 60 credits (one year) or 120 credits (two years). During this second cycle, students choose between a teaching focus, a research focus or a professional focus, depending of the career they envision.
3° CYCLE : PhDs At third cycle-level students can enrol in a PhD programme, which is composed of the compulsory doctoral training and the research in preparation of the doctoral thesis.
CONTINUING EDUCATION UCL also has a large offer of continuing education courses in a wide range of disciplines, both leading to certificates or not.
