The Université catholique de Louvain is looking for a full-time specialist in
Psychological Factors and Intervention in Health
|
The successful candidate will carry out research in the field of health psychology, based on a bio-psycho-social model. This research will mostly address adult physical health and will favour an empirical approach relying at least in part on a quantitative methodology. His/her research activities will take place in a multidisciplinary setting, implying collaboration with other professionals working in the field of physical health, including medical services of the university hospitals in partnership with UCL.
As examples, the successful candidate could develop his/her research in or several of the following domains : psycho-endocrino-immunology, psycho-oncology, chronic pain, chronic health conditions, health behaviour, obesity, cardio-vascular problems, health provider / client communication.
The successful candidate will have teaching assignments in the above-mentioned field within the various degree programmes organised by the Faculty. He/she should have a practical experience in health psychology intervention and in multidisciplinary collaborative work with different professions of the health domain.

General conditions
Tasks : The applicant will
-
be responsible for teaching courses at the various study levels (i.e. undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate), as well as in programmes of continuing education;
-
supervise the final diploma work (i.e. master thesis) of graduate students, as well as PhD theses;
-
be involved in (and/or supervise, promote) research programmes;
-
contribute to the international visibility of the University through teaching and research excellence;
-
participate in research projects in the field of development cooperation (if this fits the post description).
Qualifications : the applicant will have
-
a PhD degree in Psychology, or equivalent qualifications;
-
a significant scientific record proved by international publications ;
-
either studied abroad for an extensive period or had substantial experience outside UCL ;
-
experience in and aptitude for teaching at university level ;
-
the capacity to work within a team of teachers and to integrate research findings in their courses;
-
creativity and must be open to pedagogic innovation and interdisciplinarity;
-
the capacities required to undertake academic research at a high level and to advise, or lead, a research team ;
-
a good knowledge of both French and English. If this is not the case, the applicant should be ready to learn the missing language within a year. Fluency in other languages is an additional advantage;

the capacity to teach in French and/or in English.
