Th. Helleputte and Minister J-C Marcourt
On 14 December, DNAlytics received the first prize -Innovation Award- of the 4th edition of the Microsoft Innovation Center Boostcamp (4th edition). The ceremony took place at Louvain-la-Neuve in the presence of Jean-Claude Marcourt, vice-president of Wallonia and Walloon Minister of Economy.
The Boostcamp is an IT-related startup incubation program organized by the MIC Belgium. It offers its participants to attend seminars on financial, commercial, technical aspects of the startup creation. As Roald Sieberath, one of the MIC collaborators points out: "A startup is not just a company -smaller-, it's a completely different animal". Seminars take those specificities into account. The Boostcamp consists of about 15 days, among which four days dedicated to one-to-one challenging sessions with experts, business veterans. At the end of this 4th Boostcamp edition, 8 startups were still in competition. On top of the four awarded ones listed above, the following ones where also participating: MusicBuilding (a program of team building and management coaching centered on music), ISJob (a web platform dedicated to scientific profiles), CONF&TI (a solution for automated software configuration) and the already famous TriCount web application.
In a single week, both the scientific and the business aspects of DNAlytics have been awarded. Indeed, Thibault Helleputte from DNAlytics also received theIBM Belgium / FRS-FNRS Computer Science Award for his PhD Thesis on 13 December.
