Maxime Taquet receives the IEEE ISBI Best Paper Award
Maxime Taquet, PhD student at UCL/ICTEAM and visitor research fellow at Harvard Medical School, received the IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI 2012) Best Paper Award for his paper entitled "Interpolating multi-fiber models by Gaussian mixture simplification".
ISBI is the largest IEEE meeting on biomedical imaging gathering, every year, over 500 researchers worldwide. Maxime's work focuses on the interpolation of multi-fiber models, a novel type of images to reveal the diffusion patterns of water molecules in the brain. His methods are now being used in a project aiming at characterizing the white matter impairments in autistic patients.
