Guest Lecturers and Professors

Members of staff from another institution who wish to teach several courses within one of UCL’s programmes can apply for a vacant teaching load. A recruitment procedure, usually open to all, takes place every year at the beginning of spring.

Candidates who are recruited will be entrusted with a share of the teaching load and become a member of the academic staff as senior lecturer, associate professor or guest professor, for a period of at least one year and usually 3 years.

The Guest will be treated as any other UCL staff member and will participate as much as possible in the life of the faculty that s/he is part of, within the guidelines of the status that applies to him/her.

Please note, however, that Extra-European candidates cannot be hired as a regular staff member and will be welcomed instead as visiting lecturer or professor.
