The Center for Studies in Asset Management (CESAM) is an inter-university platform that brings together faculty members and affiliates in finance of the Louvain School of Management (LSM). The Center aims at enhancing the national and international visibility of the research activities of its members as well as of the School in general.

The CESAM is pleased to announce that this year will jointly organize the CORE-LSM the lecture series on High-Dimensional Econometrics by prof. Jianqing Fan, Princeton University. These lecture series will take place at CORE, Louvain-la-Neuve, on September 30 - October 2, 2013.

The CESAM is pleased to announce its doctoral course in Econometrics of Mixed Data Sampling by Prof. Eric Ghysels, University of North Carolina. The course is organized jointly with CORE and the National Bank of Belgium and will take place on June 4-6, 2013 at the NBB in Brussels.

Our two CESAM colleagues have been awarded by the best paper published in Finance, the journal of the French Finance Association (AFFI). Their paper is entitled "Volatility regimes and liquidity co-movements in cap-based portfolios" and co-authored with R. Beaupain. The price, amounting 1500 €, will be awarded at the occasion of the French Finance Association Meetings to be held in Strasbourg in May, 2012.

We are delighted to announce that Gerrit Sarens became Associate Editor of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (Emerald). This journal showcases empirical research which are based on diverse methodological and theoretical approaches and which highlight the policy and practical implications of the research in accounting.

This Fondation Banque de France Prize recognizes her thesis on "Non linear Exchange Rate Dynamics : From Short to Long Term". This thesis was supervised by Professor V. Mignon (Université of Paris Ouest Nanterre and CEPII). The price, amounting 3 000 € was awarded on 9 September 2011, at the occasion of the 60th Annual Congress of the French Economic Association, jointly with the prize of the AFSE.
