Contribution of the course to the program objectives
B1.1, B1.3, B3.1, B6.2, B7.1
Specific learning outcomes of the course
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
· describe the electrons migration within an organic molecule (inductive and conjugation effects) as well as during a chemical reaction between two given compounds
· establish relations between molecular and spatial structures of organic molecules and some properties, in particular, their reactivity and acidity/basicity ;
· predict and explain the expected result for the main types of organic reactions, including their mechanism, catalyst and solvent effect
· apply theory to everyday life
The contribution of this Teaching Unit to the development and
command of the skills and learning outcomes of the programme(s) can be
accessed at the end of this sheet, in the section entitled
“Programmes/courses offering this Teaching Unit”.
