Prerequisites

The prerequisite(s) for this Teaching Unit (Unité d’enseignement – UE) for the programmes/courses that offer this Teaching Unit are specified at the end of this sheet.
Content
The teaching unit will aim to confront students with the field through the analysis of professionalizing devices or video sequences on the basis of which they will identify a problematic, proceed to a data analysis, supported theoretically, to identify avenues for improvement.
Teaching methods
Each year, the course focuses on a specific theme at the heart of the profession of educational psychologist in the pedagogical departments of universities or in social promotion centers. Theoretical presentations set the framework for analysis and pedagogical activities anchor the reflection on the field. Students work in sub-groups around a problem and are supervised throughout the year. A portfolio of readings is provided to support the reflections.
Evaluation methods
Students work in sub-groups to analyze and discuss the data collected or provided and to suggest ways to support the students. An oral presentation of the work is planned at the end of the term with the writing of a summary report, in the form of a portfolio, highlighting the steps taken in the analysis of data, their interpretation and the proposed perspectives. In January, the assessment will be based on the oral presentation (20%) given by all members of the sub-group and on the portfolio submitted by the sub-group (80%). Support and formative evaluation is provided throughout the course. In the second session, only the portfolio will be evaluated (100%).
