The main topics dealt with in this course are: - cerebral palsy, - mental and sensorial handicaps, polyhandicaps, - attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, - congenital and acquired neuro-muscular diseases: myopathies, myasthenia, hereditary ataxia, hereditary polyneuropathies, functioning of a neuro-muscular reference centre, ' - neuro-orthopedic treatments and functional surgery, - movement disorders: dystonia, athetosis, ' - evaluation and treatment of spasticity, - dementia, motor regression in geriatric patients, - implication of cerebral plasticity for neurological recovery, - evidence based medicine and neurological rehabilitation, - assessment scales of impairment, disability, handicap, quality of life, - new classification ICF - further practice training in some adult and pediatric neurological pathologies: Bobath, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, myopathies, polyneuropathies, ' - further practice training of some specific techniques: constraint induced movement therapy, robotic therapy, motor imagery, electrostimulation in central and peripheral neurological pathologies, Klein-Vogelbach, Le Métayer, endurance training, movement analysis,
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 This course is complementary to the course Kine 1024 (Pathology and Physiotherapy of the nervous system). At the end of the course the successful student will be familiar with the basic physiopathology and symptomatology of the principal pathologies in the field of neuropediatry and he will also be aware of the indications and objectives of physiotherapy treatments in neuropediatric patients. In the field of adult neurological pathologies, the student will deepen and broaden his competence and knowledge about less frequent pathologies and he will be trained to the most recent techniques of physiotherapy. The student will also acquire more competence in the use of assessment tools in order to state efficiently the aims of the treatment and to evaluate the results of physiotherapy in pediatric and adult patients.

Content
This course is additional of the course of " Kiné 1024" (pathology and physiotherapy of the nervous system). He allows the student to complete his training with the main pathologies met in paediatric neurology and to approach the various aspects of their treatment. In adult neurology, the student will widen his knowledge in the uncommon neurological affections such as the dystonia, the neuromuscular pathologies and the neurological disorders of the old person. Then will be approached, the most recent rehabilitation techniques concerning the adult neurology with a critical judgment about their use.
