The themes considered are regularly renewed. In recent years, topics have included Bohemia at the time of the Luxembourg dynasty; Sicily under the Norman kingdom; the great medieval pilgrimages; and Emperor Frederick II of Hohenstaufen in Mediterranean perspective.
Teaching methods
Classes are based on a folder of ad hoc documents and references (syllabus), and make extensive use of texts and iconography. One or two sessions are led by guest specialists. Powerpoint presentations are made available on the course's Moodle site.
Evaluation methods
You can choose to work on your own or take an exam with a portfolio of readings.
