Eva De Clercq is a
bio-engineer (MSc & PhD), and specializes in Geographic Information Systems
(GIS), fragmentation analysis, and land cover change modelling. Her PhD
work concerned a quantitative analysis of the spatial forest cover pattern in
the region of Flanders. This analysis was performed on a broad scale, covering
a study area of 13000 km² and a time period of 200 years. Recent work has
focussed on risk mapping regarding vector-borne diseases. This includes mapping
the distribution of ticks and livestock.
Current research:
TICKRISK: Assessing
ecological suitability for the spread of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus in
West Africa (BELSPO STEREO II funded) website
