PHD thesis [in progress, started in 2009] in developing near real time monitoring system using satellite remote sensend temporal series images over global/continental scale
Researcher in the MOCCCASIN project http://www.mocccasin.eu/ [2011-2013]: MOCCCASIN is a collaborative project which focuses on improving the monitoring of winter-wheat and forecasting of winter-wheat yield in Russia by combining modelling techniques with satellite data assimilation. The currently existing European monitoring tools embedded in the MARS Crop Yield Forecasting System have some shortcomings for monitoring winter-crops in continental climates like in Russia. Most importantly, the effects of winter-kill on growth of winter-wheat in spring are not properly take into account. "In the MOCCCASIN, team, I'ms in charge of the Leaf Are Index retrieval using Medium resolution satellite images to improve whinter wheat monitoring in Russia"
Researcher in the GEOLAND2 project http://www.gmes-geoland.info/ [2008-2012]: The goal of the GEOLAND2-Biogeophysical Parameters Service (BioPar) is to set up pre-operational infrastructures for providing an extensive range of bio-geophysical parameters on regional, European, and global scale, both in near-real-time (NRT) and off-line mode. "I'm in charge of a project part of Geoland2/BioPar/BP-07 (European commission GMES). The project is to develop a system using medium resolution satellite datas (SPOT-VGT,MODIS) to detect waterbodies over Africa in nearly real time."
