Main themes
The course ensures the study of Belgian business law, without excluding occasional references, with a pedagogical aim, to comparative law ; commercial professions and their specificities ; commercial acts and practices ; company law ; financial law ; collective liquidation procedures. Lectures which may, if necessary, be completed, depending on course needs by other pedagogical methods. The syllabus must be provided at the beginning of the course semester, as from the second year of the nomination of the lecturer. 12 hours of compulsory practical exercises to help the student develop a practical approach to the subject. The sessions are prepared by the student whose course input is evaluated by the assistant. The course lecturer will, in agreement with the president of the department, be attentive to the coherence and adequation between the practical exercises and the lectures, including their contribution to the evaluation.
Content
The course encompasses the Belgian law of the enterprise, without excluding specific references, for educational purposes, to comparative law: the notion of enterprise and its specificity; an introduction to company law; payments and financing of the enterprise; the main contracts of the enterprise; competition law; market practices and consumer protection, including in the digital environment; an introduction to insolvency law and to the law of international trade.

Presence lecture course, completed, if necessary, by other teaching methods.

Evaluation methods
The assessment relating to the lectures, worth fifteen (15) points, takes the form of an oral examination during which the student answers randomly selected questions as well as additional questions asked by the examiners.
For the assessment of the practical exercises, the classes organized during the second semester will be evaluated for five (5) points. This assessment will take place during the class and will consist of a test, the format of which may vary depending on the subject matter taught. The tests will have a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

Students are free to chose which legal basis compilation to use for the exam. Larcier publishes a collection of legal texts specially designed for 3rd year students.
