Content

This course offers a toolbox of research methods applied to thesis projects in the social sciences.

Teaching methods

The learning approach combines input from the instructor, student presentations, and group discussions. Students are expected to present and discuss readings focusing on different research methods and to reflect on their application to their own research projects. The instructor introduces the main concepts and approaches and guides the discussions.

Evaluation methods

• Oral presentation of an article focusing on a research method and its potential application to the student’s thesis project.
• Final paper presenting a research question, research design, and selected methods.

This course demands active student participation and a good command of English.
