The Master in Philosophy (60 credits) aims to provide an advanced training in the different areas of philosophy. 
On completing this master, students :
  • will have indepth knowledge of philosophy ;
  • will be able to make a critical evaluation of the literature on specific issues and compare and justify philosophical theories.

The programme is made up of :
♦ core courses : 55 credits
    - 15 credits for the end of study work;
    - 40 crédits (core courses)
♦ and optional courses : 5 credits.

Accessible masters: le Master [120] in Philosophy [120.0] et le Master [120] in Ethics [120.0] . Direct access to the second year of the master; training includes the Dissertation and the Dissertation seminar (30 credits), one focus and the possible further trainings (maximum 30 credits ; for the master in ethics : LFILO 2190- Questions approfondies de philosophie morale (5 credits), LESPO 1321- Ethique économique, sociale et politique (5 credits), LFILO 2920- Séminaire de philosophie pratique (6 credits))

Links with the Teacher Training Certificate (upper secondary education) :
At the end of the master 60, the student can go on to the Teacher Training Certificate (upper secondary education) - Philosophy [30.0] .

There is a university certificate in philosophy (additional module) which borrows from second level courses. This certificate is awarded at the end of one year of study on a programme made up of second level courses.
