 tributed in Belgium? Does that distribution favour labour or capital? And 
 what is the effect on employment? This thesis takes up these questions acr
 oss three chapters.The first two chapters build the first Distributional N
 ational Accounts (DINA) for Belgium. By distributing the whole of national
  income (wages\, but also rents\, interest\, dividends and firms' retained
  earnings)\, they reveal inequality higher than surveys suggest\, and risi
 ng since the 2008 crisis\, driven by the growing concentration of capital 
 income at the top of the distribution.The third chapter evaluates a law th
 at bears directly on the share of added value between labour and capital: 
 the 1996 law on employment and competitiveness. Using the synthetic contro
 l method\, it compares Belgium not with its neighbours\, but with a Belgiu
 m without the law. Over 1995-2004\, and measured against its neighbours\, 
 Belgium did moderate its wages. But measured against its own counterfactua
 l\, the law shows no significant effect\, either on wages or on employment

 épartition est-elle plus favorable au monde du travail ou à celui du cap
 ital ? Et quel impact sur l'emploi ? Cette thèse examine ces questions à
  travers trois chapitres.Les deux premiers chapitres construisent les prem
 iers comptes nationaux distributifs (DINA) pour la Belgique. En distribuan
 t l'ensemble du revenu national (les salaires\, mais aussi les loyers\, in
 térêts\, dividendes et bénéfices non distribués des sociétés)\, ils
  révèlent des inégalités plus élevées que ne le suggèrent les enqu
 êtes\, et en hausse depuis la crise de 2008\, tirées par la concentratio
 n croissante des revenus du capital au sommet de la distribution.Le troisi
 ème chapitre évalue une loi qui pèse directement sur le partage de la v
 aleur ajoutée entre travail et capital : la loi de 1996 sur l'emploi et l
 a compétitivité. Par la méthode des contrôles synthétiques\, il compa
 re la Belgique non à ses voisins\, mais à une Belgique qui n'aurait pas 
 connu la loi. Sur la période 1995-2004\, comparée à ses voisins\, la Be
 lgique a bien modéré ses salaires. Mais par rapport à son propre contre
 factuel\, aucun effet significatif de la loi n'apparaît\, ni sur les sala
