Helping You Succeed
agro | Louvain-la-Neuve

Starting university means adapting to a new environment, developing new study methods, and balancing freedom with responsibilities. The subjects are new, and the pace is faster than in secondary school.
That’s why many tools and resources are available to help you succeed throughout your journey.
At the Start of Your University Journey
- Summer preparation courses
Before the academic year begins, we offer preparatory courses to help you get familiar with first-year subjects. They’re also a great opportunity to discover everyday life on campus and meet other future students. - The First Two Weeks of Classes
During the first two weeks of the academic year, various activities are organised to help you discover the Faculty and connect with your fellow students.
Throughout the Year
Lab Work and Exercise Sessions
These sessions help you apply the concepts seen in class. They take place in small groups so you can ask questions and make sure you've understood the material.Weekly Support Sessions
In the first term, you can attend 2 hours of support sessions per subject, per week. Led by teaching assistants, these sessions allow you to go over challenging topics, ask questions, and practice with additional exercises. In the second term, support sessions are also available for subjects that require exercises.- Drop-in Sessions (Monitorats)
Have a specific question? Every Monday from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m., professors and assistants are available to answer your questions.
- Disciplinary Workshops
Each week, you’ll have the opportunity to attend additional disciplinary workshops to review specific topics and practice with extra exercises.
During Key Moments
Study Skills Workshops
Learning how to memorise a lot of information, manage your time, and create a realistic study schedule can be a challenge. These workshops are designed to give you practical tools and guidance along the way.SMART week
At the end of week 6 and the start of week 7 of the first term, mock exams are organised to help you get used to the type of questions you’ll encounter during January’s exam session.Booster Blocus – Easter Study Week
During the Easter break, a one-week supported study period is organised, where you can prepare for exams alongside other students. The week includes study skills workshops, stress management sessions, tutoring support, energising walks, and more.
