Anne-Lise Sibony is a professor of European law at UCLouvain (Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgium). Her work covers several areas of European law: competition law, the internal market, and consumer law. Anne-Lise is particularly interested in how the law incorporates knowledge from other social sciences (economics, behavioral sciences). More specifically, she explores the situations in which the law turns to external contributions and how the legal system transforms them. Currently, she focuses on consumer protection within the EU and the use of behavioral sciences to inform legislative action in this field.
Anne-Lise Sibony est professeure de droit européen à l'UCLouvain (Louvain-La-Neuve, Belgique). Ses travaux portent sur plusieurs domaines du droit européen : le droit de la concurrence, le marché intérieur et le droit de la consommation. Anne-Lise s'intéresse principalement à la manière dont le droit intègre des connaissances issues d'autres sciences sociales (économie, sciences comportementales). Plus précisément, elle explore les situations dans lesquelles le droit se tourne vers des apports externes et à la manière dont le système juridique les transforme. Actuellement, elle se concentre sur la protection des consommateurs dans l'UE et sur l'utilisation des sciences comportementales pour éclairer l'action du législateur dans ce domaine.

The course “Behavioural Science and Public Policy”, led by Anne-Lise Sibony, exemplifies Circle U.’s collaborative approach as a European university alliance. This elective course, open to Master’s students, explores the application of behavioural sciences to public policy through an innovative hybrid format combining webinars and a residential week in Brussels, thereby embodying Circle U.’s vision of a cross-border European open campus.
