Ester Lucia RIZZI holds a Ph.D. in Demography from the consortium of the Universities of Rome, Florence, and Padua. She is currently a Professor at the Centre for Demographic Research at UCLouvain (Université catholique de Louvain). Her research lies at the intersection of family demography and gender studies, with a particular focus on how belief systems, social transformations, welfare regimes, and macro-level crises shape individual and family behaviours. Central to her work is the analysis of how these behavioural shifts affect individual well-being. She adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining advanced quantitative techniques with in-depth qualitative research to capture the multidimensional nature of demographic processes.
