TITRE : Sediment Transport and Morphodynamics in Marine and Coastal Waters with Engineering Solutions

ACRONYME : SEDIMARE

Coastal and estuarine environments are constanly subject to erosion and sedimentation. The protection and sustainable development of those environments depend on our understanding of complex sediment transport and morphodynamic processes and on the development of efficient engineering solutions to mitigate their effects. The objective of SEDIMARE is is the interdisciplinary training to 12 Researchers, aiming towards a sustainable use and protection of coastal and estuarine zones. The Network comprises 6 universities, 3 companies, 1 Applied Research Institute and 1 industrial associated partner. The Network will provide a comprehensive training program consisting of training-through-research, advances courses, inter-institutional co-supervision, intersectoral secondments, summer/winter schools, workshops, complementary activities, dissemination, and outreach activities.

The research plan is organized into 3 Work Packages (WP):

  1. Sediment Transport Processes,
  2. Coupling of Flow, Sediment Transport, and Morphodynamics, and
  3. Sustainable Coastal Engineering Solutions.

SEDIMARE, an MSCA Doctoral Network, is funded by European Union's Horizon Europe Framework Programme.
