More information

Research does not stop at publication. Communicating beyond academic circles is an important way to ensure that our work reaches and benefits a wider audience. It can also help foster collaborations, increase the visibility of our institutes and projects, and create new opportunities for impact.

This session will explore how researchers can increase the visibility and reach of their work, with a particular focus on LinkedIn. We will discuss how the platform works, what drives visibility, and how we can collectively make better use of it to share research. Practical examples and tips will be provided, and the session will offer an opportunity to reflect on and challenge some of our current communication practices. Particular attention will be paid to the role of collective visibility and how supporting each other's content can help amplify research beyond our immediate networks.

The UCLouvain Press Team will also present its role and the services it offers to researchers. Aimed primarily at academic staff, this part of the session will provide advice on communicating research and expertise through the media, highlight opportunities for media training with practical exercises, and discuss ways to strengthen the visibility of academic work beyond the university.

Questions, experiences and discussions are warmly welcome throughout the session.
