Derogation Unfundability - Dérogtation Non-Finançabilité
esl | Louvain-la-Neuve
Students may continue their studies provided that the enrolment they are applying for qualifies for funding from the French Community of Belgium. The Enrolment Service (SIC) is responsible for determining whether the student’s enrolment is eligible for funding. Therefore, all applications for enrolment or re-enrolment must begin with the online form, which must be completed and submitted to the Enrolment Service.
The Enrolment Service (SIC) will assess the eligibility for funding of the application and will inform the prospective student if the application is not eligible for funding. To be assessed the application file must be complete. More information on fundability to be found here.
Procedure to be followed for any derogation request in the event of unfundability
- Write a letter setting out the following points:
- Your reasons for wishing to pursue your studies;
- The factors which, in your view, explain the course your studies have taken since you began your higher education (where applicable, please attach any supporting documentation you have gathered to substantiate the difficulties you have encountered, such as death certificates, medical records, accident reports, etc.);
- Attach your academic transcripts showing your results for each year of study at higher education and university level;
- Attach a copy of the email you received from SIC inviting you to contact the faculty (regarding unfundability);
- Return everything as soon as possible (by 30 September at the latest):
- By mail only to Mrs. Yuliya Rychalovska (yuliya.rychalovska@unamur.be) and Mrs. Laetitia Dablemont (laetitia.dablemont@uclouvain.be) for all the Master's programs of the ESL
- Your application will be assessed by the faculty panel, which will then submit its recommendation regarding your application to the Enrolment Service;
- The Enrolment Service will notify you of the decision by email;
- If your request is accepted, please contact your academic advisor as soon as possible so that you can put together your study plan (PAE) without delay.
