Introduction

The Master [120] in French and Romance Languages and Literatures : French as a Foreign Language will no longer be offered starting in 2026–2027. Students who were enrolled no later than 2025–26 may re-enroll and have two years to complete it. It will remain accessible in 2026–27 to second-year students from Fu Jen Catholic University and Hanoi University as part of the joint degree agreements with these two universities. A Specialized Master’s (post-master's degree) in French as a Foreign Language will be launched in 2026–2027.

The detailed program presented in these pages is based on the latest reform of the Master’s program and applies to students starting the program in September 2025. The Master’s degree offers you:

  • advanced training in the teaching of French as a foreign language or a second language;
  • tools for the analysis of cultural and historical contexts of French-speaking communities;
  • training which uses new information technologies;
  • training which combines an introduction to the methods and theories of language teaching and real teaching practice;
  • an original approach to French-speaking communities, from an interdisciplinary perspective : linguistic and literary approaches, political and institutional issues.
