Academic Calender

An academic year is divided into three terms. Learning activities (courses, seminars, practical work, etc.) are primarily held during the first two quadrimesters. Find below the key dates of the academic calendar.

1st Term

September
  • Monday 8 to Saturday 13 September: possible welcome and integration activities
  • Sunday 14 September: first term begins
  • Monday 15 September: classes begin - academic year opening ceremony
  • Saturday 27 September: French Community Day
October
  • Monday 27 October to Saturday 1 November: no classes (organisation varies per faculty)
November
  • Saturday 1 November: All Saints' Day
  • Tuesday 11 November: Armistice Day
December
  • Saturday 20 December: first term classes end
  • Thursday 25 December: Christmas Day
January
  • Thursday 1 January: New Year's Day
  • Monday 5 January: first exam session begins (part of first term)
  • Saturday 24 January: first exam session ends
  • Friday 30 January (at the latest): deliberations end

2nd Term

February
  • Sunday 1 February: second term begins
  • Monday 2 February: classes begin
April
  • Monday 6 April: Easter Monday
  • Monday 20 April to Saturday 2 May: no classes
May
  • Friday 1 May: Labour Day
  • Thursday 14 May: Ascension Day
  • Saturday 16 May: second term classes end
  • Monday 25 May: Whit Monday
June
  • Monday 1 June: second exam session begins (part of second term)
