At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
| Contribution of the teaching unit to learning outcomes of the programme This unit contributes to the development and command of the following learning outcomes assigned to the Master’s degree in Interpreting : 1.5, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.3, 4.2, 6.1, 6.4, 8.6, FS-IC-2A 1.5. Continuously update one's language skills and keep up to date with developments in each of one's working languages; 2.1. Master and apply analytical methods and comprehension tools, demonstrate an ability to synthesise information in order to distinguish between essential and secondary information in speech, ensuring that nuances are preserved; 2.2. Take a step back to enable an in-depth analysis of the speech; 2.3. Assimilate theoretically based transposition techniques and apply them in practice until they become automatic. 3.3. Identify the socio-cultural components underlying a speech and convey them in the most appropriate manner through interpretation; 4.2. Identify information and documentation needs for the interpreting mission to be carried out; 6.1 Communicate in A, B or C languages in a correct, structured, neutral and articulate manner. Adapt the content and form of communication to the target audience and intended purpose, in accordance with the communication conventions specific to the context; 6.4. Demonstrate flexibility and alertness to adapt to new communication situations; 8.6. Demonstrate concentration, perseverance, tact and self-control, particularly in stressful situations. FS-IC-2A.
