Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

This unit contributes to the acquisition and development of the following learning outcomes, as assigned to the Master's degree in interpreting : 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 3.4, 8.6, FS-ILS-1.
Specific learning outcomes at the end of the learning unit
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
  1. interpret complex speeches lasting between 6 and 9 minutes in one of the two working languages (French or LSFB), in simultaneous mode, in semiprofessional conference or liaison situations, respecting as far as possible the accuracy of content, clarity of form and expected registers ;
  2. use an extensive, up-to-date LSFB and French specialist vocabulary in a variety of fields (law, economics, health, education, etc.), ensuring functional and pragmatic equivalence in both languages ;
  3. cover all the dimensions of a speech, including implicit meanings, stereotypes, allusions, cultural and intertextual references, adapting them as appropriate to the target language and audience ;
  4. analyse his/her performance critically and reflectively, identifying areas for improvement in relation to professional criteria (additions, omissions, misinterpretations, stylistic errors), factors for success and areas for improvement ;
  5. maintain a stable and ethical professional posture under stress, ensuring concentration, perseverance, emotional management and respect for the conventions specific to one-way interpreting situations.
