Pauline Degrave est Professeure chargée de cours en linguistique et didactique du néerlandais langue étrangère à la Faculté de Philosophie, Arts et Lettres de l’UCLouvain depuis septembre 2020.
Ses domaines principaux de recherche portent sur l’apprentissage oral des langues étrangères, en particulier sur le lien entre musique et acquisition orale des langues, ainsi que sur l’apprentissage disciplinaire en langue étrangère (immersion, CLIL, EMI).
Elle est titulaire d’un doctorat en langues et lettres (UCLouvain, 2019), d’un master en langues et lettres modernes (UCLouvain, 2009), d’un master de spécialisation en pédagogie universitaire et de l’enseignement supérieur (2014) et de l’agrégation de l’enseignement secondaire supérieur (2017). Pauline Degrave a par ailleurs fait plusieurs séjours d’étude et de recherche, notamment à la KULeuven (2006-2007), à la Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (2018), à l’University of California (2014) et à l’UGent (2019-2020).
Pauline Degrave est en charge de plusieurs cours de niveau bachelier et master dans les domaines de la linguistique et de la didactique du néerlandais. Elle a également été Professeure invitée à mi-temps à l’Université de Gand dans ces mêmes domaines en 2021-2022. Elle dispense régulièrement des formations à destination d’enseignants et est autrice de nombreuses publications scolaires.
Pauline Degrave est par ailleurs responsable académique du Certificat en Didactique du néerlandais langue étrangère, lancé en septembre 2023 pour faire face à la pénurie d'enseignants de néerlandais en Belgique francophone.
Pauline Degrave has been an Associate Professor in Linguistics and Dutch as a Foreign Language Didactics at the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters of UCLouvain since September 2020.
Her main research areas focus on the oral learning of foreign languages, particularly the connection between music and oral language acquisition, as well as on content learning through a foreign language (immersion, CLIL, EMI).
She holds a PhD in Languages and Literature (UCLouvain, 2019), a Master’s degree in Modern Languages and Literature (UCLouvain, 2009), a Specialized Master’s in University and Higher Education Pedagogy (2014), and a Teaching Certification for Upper Secondary Education (2017). Pauline Degrave has also undertaken several study and research stays, notably at KU Leuven (2006–2007), Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (2018), the University of California (2014), and Ghent University (2019–2020).
Pauline Degrave teaches several bachelor’s and master’s level courses in the fields of linguistics and Dutch didactics. She was also a part-time Visiting Professor at Ghent University in these same areas during the 2021–2022 academic year. She regularly provides training for teachers and is the author of numerous educational publications.
Pauline Degrave is also the academic coordinator of the Certificate in Dutch as a Foreign Language Didactics, launched in September 2023 to address the shortage of Dutch teachers in French-speaking Belgium.
