Guillaume Wery holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Chemistry from UCLouvain. In 2020, he completed an internship in Prof. Passarella’s laboratory at the Università degli Studi di Milano, gaining hands-on experience in organic chemistry. For his Master’s thesis, he joined Prof. Tom Leyssens’ group, where he investigated the control of regioselectivity in [2+2] photocycloadditions through crystal engineering.
Since 2021, Guillaume has been pursuing his PhD, which is structured in two complementary parts. The first part continues the work of his Master’s thesis, further exploring regioselectivity control in solid-state reactions. The second part focuses on the deracemization of various molecules by combining mechanochemistry and crystal engineering, aiming to develop innovative strategies for controlling molecular chirality in the solid state.
Alongside his research, Guillaume is actively engaged in teaching. He supervises both exercise sessions and laboratory classes in general and physical chemistry, supporting students in developing their practical and theoretical understanding of chemical concepts.
