AUTOMATING QCD RADIATIVE CORRECTIONS FOR INCLUSIVE HEAVY-QUARKONIUM PRODUCTION

AutomOnium aims to provide the first fully automated tool for quarkonium production at next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy within the well-known event generator MadGraph5_aMC@NLO. By extending the capabilities of high-energy particle physics cross-section and event generators, it will enable efficient and robust computations of inclusive hadro- and photoproduction at particle colliders.
The goal is to deliver a user-friendly and all-encompassing tool that anyone can use to simulate quarkonium production at colliders, while providing versatile, state-of the-art theoretical predictions. AutomOnium will incorporate both collinear and transverse-momentum-dependent factorisation methodologies in perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) in the kinematic regions where they are most applicable, for all heavy quarkonium.
This development will enrich interactions between the theoretical and experimental high-energy particle physics communities and ultimately facilitate the first global NRQCD phenomenological analyses comparing theory and experiment. Additionally, it will have a direct and far-reaching impact on the construction of physics cases for current (LHC@CERN, Belle-II@KEK, RHIC@BNL, etc.) and future (EIC@BNL, FCC@CERN, …) experimental programs.
