Wim Decock appointed as new Regius Professor of Civil Law

We are immensely proud to announce that Professor Wim Decock has been appointed Regius Professor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford, one of the oldest and most prestigious chairs in legal academia, founded by King Henry VIII in the 1540s.
Professor Decock, who has been a distinguished member of our faculty and institute, will take up this historic position on 1 October 2026, becoming the 29th scholar to hold this title and joining All Souls College, Oxford. This appointment is a testament to the excellence of legal scholarship at UCLouvain - Université catholique de Louvain and highlights the international impact of our academic community.
