Gwenhaël Wilberts Dewasseige receives the Paul and Marie Stroobant prize from the Royal Academy of Belgium

This prize, awarded biannually since 1951, rewards researchers in theoretical or observational astronomy. The 37th prize was attributed to prof Wilberts Dewasseige for "the exceptional quality of her work, including her contribution to the detection of cosmic neutrinos, her central role in large-scale international collaborations, and the scientific impact of her research.”
The prize was awarded during the public session of the Science Class in December 2025.
Gwenhaël Wilberts Dewasseige is professor at the Science faculty of UCLouvain and researcher at the Institute for Research in Mathematics and Physics (IRMP). She is the founder principal investigator of the Neutrino Astrophysics Team at IRMP, which is a member of both the IceCube and KM3NeT collaborations. Prof Wilberts Dewasseige is also a member of the Collegium of the Royal Academy of Belgium.
