Between Academic Expertise and Societal Challenges
The UCLouvain Chairs are spaces of excellence where research, teaching, and society come together. Led by professors and supported by public or private partners, they foster the development of knowledge on major contemporary issues, from European law to pensions, including taxation, through an interdisciplinary lens. The Chairs enhance the university’s scientific visibility, enrich student training, and build bridges between the academic world and professional spheres.
Chaire de Droit Européen
Centre Charles De Visscher pour le droit international et européen
This Chair focuses on the EU's substantive law, tangible and close to citizens, rather than institutional law. Interdisciplinary by nature, it explores the role of European law as a tool for integration in diverse areas: trade, family, migration, criminal justice, and fundamental rights.
Chaire PWC de Droit Fiscal
Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire Droit, Entreprise et Société
This Chair combines academic excellence with practical expertise. It strengthens the teaching of tax law, supports doctoral research, and offers high-quality training for professionals. Deeply rooted in society, it enhances UCLouvain’s scientific visibility in Belgium and beyond.
Chaire d'Excellence sur les Pensions
Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire Droit, Entreprise et Société
Funded by Ethias and the Fondation Louvain, the UCLouvain Pensions Chair addresses the challenges of pension systems through an interdisciplinary lens. It aims to design fair and sustainable pension models, support research, and raise public awareness through seminars and teaching focused on Belgian and European developments.
