Chaire de la Vallée Poussin

Depuis sa création en 2001, La Chaire de la Vallée Poussin est confiée, chaque année, à une personnalité mathématique de premier plan. Elle se tient sous la forme d'un colloque international de 4 jours à Louvain-la-Neuve en l'auditoire du même nom. Une leçon inaugurale est donnée le premier jour et est suivie les autres jours de 3 exposés plus approfondis du sujet.
La chaire de la Vallée-Poussin doit son nom à Charles de la Vallée Poussin, l'un des plus grands mathématiciens belges. Il fût professeur à l'UCLouvain de 1891 à 1962.
