Professor Laure Bindels (MNUT) has been awarded the Prix Galien 2024, considered to be the ‘Nobel Prize for medical innovation’, for her work with Professor Laure Elens on the role of the intestinal microbiota in the variability of absorption of tacrolimus, an essential immunosuppressant following organ transplants.

Awarded in 15 countries, the Prix Galien recognises the most outstanding innovations in healthcare.
