From 2020 to 2024, the Saint-Louis Brussels campus led an internal project, ‘Tackling Student Failure, Rethinking Teaching and Learning,’ to gain deeper insight into the challenges faced by first-year students and enhance the support provided to them.
In practical terms, this means that on campus you will find:
- · A supportive, human-scale environment
- · Enhanced guidance to help you get off to a good start at university
- · An innovative approach to learning that meets your needs and fits your life
- · Practical measures to help you succeed
Some examples of these measures:
Welcome days to learn the ropes, get information and develop good habits right from the start of the academic year.
Guidance from second- and third-year students, the Buddies, to help you discover the university, meet new people, and get support in your courses.
Develop the student skills expected at university (note-taking, time management, answering exam questions, etc.).
Meetings with an academic or a guidance/reorientation counselor.
Reinforcement in certain subjects through group sessions.
Shared study spaces in a motivating environment.
Documents, videos and platforms accessible free of charge online to develop various methodological, subject-specific and digital skills.
