The Musée L is inaugurating a new online, open-access scholarly journal devoted to university collections and academic museums: UniMusea – Research and Practices on University Collections.
In its initial phase, the journal will be published biennially, with each issue structured around a theme that resonates with the museum’s research activities.
The purpose of this journal is to publish original, previously unpublished contributions devoted to research on university collections and/or university museum practices.
Furthermore, the journal seeks to engage and collaborate with individuals outside traditional academic settings, including artists, museum professionals, and representatives of institutions, collectives, and civil-society organizations.
The inaugural issue will focus on debates and critical reflections on the decolonization of university collections. This initiative forms part of an ongoing process undertaken by Musée L to examine collections originating from colonial contexts, with the aim of rethinking museography and museum practices.
The call for submissions is now open; all relevant information can be found via this link.
