There is a range of collaboration opportunities that connect our engineering expertise with industry, academia and public partners to drive innovation and impact.

It goes from light touch and early stage collaboration, to R&D collaborations and strategic partnership as described below.

Internship

  • 9 weeks duration (summer or academix year)
  • mainly supervised by company
  • service to a compan
  • not mandatory

HOW? Propose internship topic at anytime via Louvain School of Engineering

Master thesis

  • Over one year (50%)

  • Funding opportunities (e.g. Wallonia Win4Doc, Innoviris Applied PhD, Europe MSCA doctoral network)

Postdoctoral research collaboration

  • 2-4 years
  • Funding opportunities (e.g. postdoctoral fellowship MSCA (Eu))

Publicly funded applied reserach projects

  • Timing and budget vary
  • Funding opportunities (e.g. Europe Horizon, UCLouvain/WBI Action de Recherche Concertée (ARC))

Framework agreement and call-off contract for industrial research

  • Consultancy agreement can be done to cover work done by an ICTEAM expert (Igr, PostDoc, Professor)
  • It can be covered by a framework agreement if multiple tasks are planned

Sponsored research chairs

  • Typically 5 years
  • Aim to support a permanent professor and a research team
  • Opportunity to focus reserach on a specific topic/area

Here is an example with the chair held by Professor Cristel Pelsser
