As pillars of experimental activities—whether related to research or teaching—the platforms play a central role within the iMMC institute.

This reality also entails a particular responsibility, as laboratory activities can have a significant impact on the environment.

With this in mind, our three platforms (CREDEM, LACAMI and LEMSC) have decided to commit to the LEAF (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) program, a certification initiative aimed at assessing and structurally improving laboratory practices with regard to their environmental impact.

The program also seeks

  • to optimize and standardize processes, and
  • to enhance both efficiency and the long-term preservation of information across generations of researchers.

Driven by their respective managers, the platforms have set themselves the initial goal of quickly achieving the ‘Bronze’ level of accreditation, marking the first concrete milestone in this process.

This initiative is part of a broader commitment to the continuous improvement of the institute’s practices, with the aim of reconciling the demands of supporting experimental research with careful attention to environmental issues, while also enhancing operational efficiency.

It is a process that fully aligns with the vision of responsible and sustainable research, in coherence with the values and mission upheld by our institute.
